  • Opposes bailouts. As Salt Lake City governor, increased general fund reserve balance $20.3 million to $32.6 million

Gary Johnson (Libertarian):

  • Supports 23% sales tax

  • Abolish IRS
  • Balanced budget
  • Opposes bailouts
  • End government support of Freddie and Fannie

Gary Johnson (Libertarian):

  • Require cost-benefit analysis for all environmental regulations
  • Oppose cap and trade

Barack Obama (Democratic):

  • Expanded drilling rigs in operation by 23%
  • Sent 17,500 troops and 1,400 ships to deal with BP spill

Mitt Romney (Republican):

  • Supports construction of a natural gas system
  • As MA governor, opposed Cape Cod rail extension
